About
the Library
Established
in 1964, the University of Wisconsin Water Resources Library (WRL) is affiliated with
the UW Aquatic Sciences Center, the home of the Water Resources
and Sea Grant Institutes.
Mission
The
library’s mission is to support the research, education, outreach and
technology transfer activities of the UW Aquatic
Sciences Center, and both of the programs it administers, the Water Resources
Institute and Sea
Grant Institute.
The Collection
The
Water Resources Library is
a unique collection of almost 30,000 volumes of water-related information,
with particular emphasis on Wisconsin and the Great Lakes. The library
also has over 60 journals and 100 newsletters and special collections of videos, educational curricula and children's books. The
Library's collection may be searched on-line via MadCat.

collection is supplemented by the major research collection, numerous
online databases, and full-text resources of the UW-Madison.
Who We Serve
The
Library primarily serves University of Wisconsin faculty, staff, and
students. Wisconsin residents should visit Wisconsin's Water Library to use the collection. Non-Wisconsin residents who want to use our library should contact us.
Finding Us
The library is located
on the second floor of Goodnight Hall, 1975 Willow Drive. For

Books,
documents, reports, microfiche, most newsletters, and the current issues
of journals are in room 238. Back issues of journals are in room
232A. The librarian is in room 247.
Hours
Normal library hours
are 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (but closed noon to 1:00 p.m.) Monday through
Friday. We try to have someone available to assist users during business
hours, but it is not always possible. If you think you will need assistance, it is a good idea to call ahead at (608) 262-3069.
